I was trying to find the best way to provide links to happiness books. The answer I eventually came up with was setting up an Amazon Store where you can see book reviews etc
So the Happiness Bookstore has been launched.
It will contain books I own and recommend and books that others have recommended to me that I will get around to reading :)

Donate
I put a donation box up on the site. There is this theory that you are compensated in life according to the value you provide to others. Some religions mandate tithing 10%.
If you find this site of value and want to help contribute financially please feel free. This will provide more time to work on the site and provide greater value.
This will bring you good karma. Support the activities that you think are worthwhile - and I think helping people achieve or pursue happiness is worthy which is why I am doing it.
In some strange way I also think this is a test of people's generosity and the power of value versus the commercialisation of everything. If nothing better it is an experiment.

Making Money & Happiness
"The pursuit of money is the root of all evil"
Nothing is more likely to make a person to compromise themselves as the promise of money - in my opinion anyway.
but we know
"money can't buy you happiness"
So there is no point shying away from the argument that people pursue money because they think that it will make them happy. I have a fair idea how people make money in business and online so I will probably post about it at some stage then we can move on to analyse where it gets you and whether it makes you happy.

About This Site
I have been wondering for a while what I want to achieve here. I think I have finally worked it out.
1. This site will not have advertising. It is hard to find a case for advertising helping people find happiness - so you won't find it here. I will probably throw up a donations button or something - but no affiliate marketing, advertising, paid reviews etc ...
2. Given that this site will not participate in advertising I won't be using techniques or services to track users (which are primarly for advertising purposes). It no logging of visits or tracking RSS feeds, email newsletter signups etc ... this ultimately will force it into the non-commercial space. I am not going to attempt to 'monetize' you.
3. This will be a collection of resources on those searching for happiness, or just wanting to find out more.
4. I would like to think of the Internet of a place where people can find fulfillment, benevolence and a positive view of humanity, and this is my contribution.

What can you find here
This will become a collection of items related to happiness and the pursuit of happiness.
Part Web Clip collection, part mental dumping ground. Maybe of some benefit to others, may not.

So what is this all about
This happiness thing - what's that all about. Everyone wants it - lots of people searching for it. Can you find it in a pill, a person, a gadget or a posession.
Does it matter if it is authentic, true, synthetic, imagined? Or are the labels just designed to put others down and steal happiness from them.
